Ken, From what I read across most media coverage, your analysis came closest—though understandably cautious. The underlying dynamics, however, pointed to a decisive Bhumjaithai victory well before election day.

Thank you for the post krub. One surprising thing this election cycle, in my opinion, is that it has demonstrated the regional polarization of Thai politics.

I saw plenty of social media reactions of people flabbergasted at Southern Thailand’s insistence on the democrats, for example.

A remarkable personal victory for Anutin. You always maintained this result was a reasonable possibility even when the opinion polls pointed in another direction. One wonders how important his decision to retain the interior minister role for himself was in laying the groundwork for this victory.
