A cease-fire (and a lasting solution) clearly needs to be brokered as soon as possible. China is best positioned to knock heads together and bring Cambodia and Thailand to the negotiating table, given its massive leverage over both countries (especially Cambodia, where it dominates economically). A successful outcome would also embellish China's reputation as a peacekeeper in its Asian sphere of influence.
Excellent coverage as always.
Thank you Ken. Yes, what is the root cause of this conflict?
Stopping Thais going to casinos in Cambodia? Turning off power to Cambodian call centres?
Something else?
Now that Hun Sen has bombed civilian targets he has certainly lost the moral high ground.
Domestically, will the conflict give Pheu Thai breathing space?
Anti -government demos suspended court cases postponed or will coup plotters be talking to certain politicians?
Turbulent times ahead

These news make me sad and worried. War is never a good idea, everybody loses, especially the innocent civilians on both sides of the border
